Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how DeltaProof uses cookies and similar technologies on deltaproof.ai. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device to remember information about you and your visit. We also use related technologies including localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixels. We collectively refer to these as "cookies" in this policy.
2. Categories of cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential for the Service to function and cannot be switched off in our system. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as signing in or filling out forms. You can configure your browser to block them, but parts of the site will not work.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__session, __client_uat | Clerk | Authentication session | Session / 1 year |
deltaproof_beta_access | DeltaProof (localStorage) | Remembers Beta access code so you don't re-enter it | Until cleared |
NEXT_LOCALE | Next.js / Vercel | Locale preference | 1 year |
2.2 Functional
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you disable them, some functions may not work properly.
| Name | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Preference cookies | DeltaProof (localStorage) | Remember UI preferences (theme, dismissed banners) |
2.3 Analytics
As of the last-updated date of this policy, no third-party analytics tools are deployed on the public site, and no analytics cookies are set. Accordingly, no consent banner is shown — the site uses only strictly necessary cookies (Section 2.1). If we deploy analytics in the future, those cookies will only be set after you have given consent through a cookie banner that we will introduce at that time.
2.4 Marketing
We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties whose services we use:
- Clerk — authentication. See Clerk's privacy notice for details.
- Vercel — hosting. May set minimal infrastructure cookies for routing and security.
We do not control third-party cookies and recommend reviewing the providers' privacy notices for their respective practices.
4. How to control cookies
You have several ways to control cookies:
- Cookie consent banner. Currently we set only strictly necessary cookies, so no consent banner is shown. If we deploy non-essential cookies (e.g., analytics) in the future, we will present a banner allowing you to accept or reject them.
- Browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies. Common controls include "Settings → Privacy" or equivalent.
- Do Not Track. We honor browser-level "Do Not Track" signals to the extent technically feasible. Where DNT is detected, we do not enable analytics cookies.
- Account deletion. If you delete your account, server-side session cookies become invalid. You may also need to clear cookies from your browser to remove client-side data.
5. Local storage and similar technologies
Beyond traditional cookies, we use the browser's localStorage and sessionStorage to store small pieces of information such as the Beta access flag and certain UI preferences. These behave similarly to cookies but stay on your device and are not transmitted on every request. You can clear them via your browser's site-data controls.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our service evolves or as the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated by a banner on the site.
